Excitement and Anticipation

Written on October 7

As I anxiously wait for the day of the symposium, I can’t help but practice my interview questions that I have previously made. I am excited to experience what it is like to be in a room full of students who also have big aspirations. What has been helpful to me was knowing that I went to the ISM law meetup a few weeks ago. I was able to get out of my comfort zone by networking with other high school students who aspired to be lawyers, and by speaking with practicing attorneys as well. As I catch myself worrying about the symposium, I just have to remind myself that I have gone through a similar process before.

It is important to me that I showcase myself in a professional manner. I recently bought a leather portfolio, so I could put my resume inside of it. By doing this, I hope that I have taken an extra step to make sure that I am well prepared to be in a room full of professionals. The last step that is missing in my preparation is printing out my resume. Since I don’t have resume paper at home, I most likely have to go to a print shop before the symposium to get some copies.

All in all, the symposium has been an event I have been excited to participate in. While I don’t know what to expect, I can’t help but imagine all the possibilities.
